Pappy Boyington Fields - A Campaign to Honor a Hero - Documentary Film
  Portrait of Pappy Boyington

During World War II, Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington led a squadron of fighter pilots known as the "Blacksheep" of VMF-214. The accomplishments of these Marine Corps pilots was legendary.  "Pappy's" agressive fighting spirit helped him earn the Ace designation five times over.
Born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in 1914, "Pappy" became one of the most decorated aviators in World War II. On September 22, 2007 the Coeur d'Alene airport was re-named "Pappy Boyington Field" in his honor. Veterans Groups and community members worked many years to achieve the airfield designation. This is their story.
